Here's your (not so) totally useless fact(s) of the day:
In 1967, a magazine published a hoax article about extracting psychoactive substances from banana peels, leading people to smoke them. Banana peel smoking spread nationwide despite no effects. Two people were arrested for possession of banana peels, and one was charged with a DUI.
Oooh, I have a story about this! I have a friend who read the Anarchists Cookbook and read that if you scrape the inside of a banana peel and bake it, you can then smoke it and get high. Let me tell you, it gives you nothing but a headache. Don’t ask how I know! =)
