Hello Everyone,
Here's your (not so) totally useless fact of the day: Thanks Jerry!
Light slows when shown through a diamond. There have been many experiments
done with timers that prove when you shine a beam of light through a diamond,
there is an appreciable slowing down-timwise-for the beam to come out the other
side.
Somehow the beam gets caught up in the structure and takes longer to escape the
diamond. Some scientists believe that there may even be images trapped in the
diamond that may one day be recovered to show an event from the past.
