Hi James,
I rented a car for the weekend of May 23-26 in Louisville, KY on
Southwest Air's site for $118.32 for the weekend on Alamo (for a
compact car). I then checked this price on other sites like
Carrentals.com and it was more than $118.32.
I googled Rental Car codes last nite and found out something
very interesting. On both National and Alamo car rentals,
they have 'last minute fares' listed on their homepages.
On 'last minute fares', they have deals in each state for certain
cities. Louisville was one of them, and I was able to book the
exact same rental for $71.87 for a mid-sized car.
I could have booked the car on National for about $75.
This was an incredible savings of $45.45.

And another note...I just looked on alamo (the hot deals section) and
saw that I can rent an suv for the weekend for only $30. nice!
